The Lights Are Bright In Atwater Village

Today I noticed the new lights on my block. Wow it's bright! I don't know if the rest of Atwater is going to get new lights, but my block of Seneca just got brighter. The new lights don't cover all of Seneca, maybe about 40 percent of the entire street, but what a difference these lights make. The old lights were also on and you can tell the difference, the old lights are like a dim sad yellow color that lit up the night like a dying jack-o-lantern. The new lights however are truly illuminating, like giant flashlights that turn night into day. Seriously it lights up the streets like I have never seen before, I hope they do this to the rest of Atwater.

Cafe Bravo

Cafe Bravo is located in :
2662 Griffith Park Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90039
(323) 912-1111

The lamb kabob and  the Cornish hen kabob plates are about $8.50 each, that's the maximum you'll pay for a meal here, and considering the freshness and the quality of the food served here, that is a bargain.  I love hummus and the hummus they serve here isn't drowned in olive oil like they always seem to serve in so many other middle eastern eateries. The pickled turnips are good as well.

I'm always in the mood for a sandwich, the sandwiches here are filled with the meat of your choice, they are a foot long and they are generous with there portions, you get a piece of meat all the way till the last bite and the fresh Armenian bread that it is served on, is very good, very light and ties the entire sandwich together. The taste that really sticks with you throughout  the day, along with the spices in the meat, is the garlic sauce that is served in all the sandwiches. Throw in an extra 50 cents and you get feta cheese on your sandwich.

This place is well kept, neat, inexpensive, takes telephone orders, and is ideal for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

I have to try this!!!

Got this video off  from Food Wishes Blog

It's an ingenious way to eat chicken wings! I always hated the  forearm portion of the chicken wing because it was kinda cumbersome to eat, well to be honest I just didn't have the patience. In any event, its a great technique and I look forward to
trying it!

Chuck E Cheese's

This review is based on my nephew who celebrated his 4th birthday here. He absolutely loves this place, the games, the cheesy guy in a mouse outfit, the cake, he had a ball. It was important that he had fun and that's all that matters, having his birthday here was mission accomplished.

Now for me, I felt like Gulliver, in 'Gulliver's Travels', and I was in the land of Lilliput, surround by little people. It felt like I was thrown into a Rugrats cartoon and was drowning in a sea of little people. The entire  experience for me was like being kicked in the nads! But you see, that's okay, my nephew Julian had a blast, and I'd gladly go through that again just to see him happy.

"Daddy...."

*I thought I lost this blog, I wrote this back in June of this year, glad I found it!*

There is a saying, “If you really want to know a man, walk a mile in his shoes.” I don’t know what it is to be a father, I hope that one day I might be able to experience it. Being a father is kinda like creating and launching a new generation, always hoping and praying the new generation, your child’s life, would be better then yours. Fathers, in their finest form, are their families, but what are “families”? A mother and father, living under the same roof with there child? In ideal situations that would certainly be the case, but what if that is not the case? Such as in a dissolving relationship. What does it do to a man, who has tried so hard to preserve and keep a family intact, to later have that union be destroyed? What does it do to a man who idolizes playing the part of being a father, and then to tell him that his role as a father is now diminished, that now he reduced to being a “part time father”? Many times we are dealt situations in life that are far beyond our control, sometimes in life not due to our creation but of the fault of others, we are dealt with dilemmas that we can’t do anything about.

Sometimes life’s journeys can literally put us through hell and back, it is at these times that we spiritually need to be strong.  Only God knows why, we are put through such ordeals. Maybe its Gods purpose of purging us, of braking us down, like a blacksmith purges and brakes down a piece of metal, once we have gone through the fire,  the metal is ready for the maker’s hand.

In the end know and understand this, no matter what comes, no matter what “substitutes” are placed in your stead, no matter how many attempts there are to have you recycled into other forms, your title as "Daddy” is not simply a title, but a right, a right that no other man can ever steal from you. A relationship with your son that can never be broken, you and your child are partners forever.
