"Daddy...."

*I thought I lost this blog, I wrote this back in June of this year, glad I found it!*

There is a saying, “If you really want to know a man, walk a mile in his shoes.” I don’t know what it is to be a father, I hope that one day I might be able to experience it. Being a father is kinda like creating and launching a new generation, always hoping and praying the new generation, your child’s life, would be better then yours. Fathers, in their finest form, are their families, but what are “families”? A mother and father, living under the same roof with there child? In ideal situations that would certainly be the case, but what if that is not the case? Such as in a dissolving relationship. What does it do to a man, who has tried so hard to preserve and keep a family intact, to later have that union be destroyed? What does it do to a man who idolizes playing the part of being a father, and then to tell him that his role as a father is now diminished, that now he reduced to being a “part time father”? Many times we are dealt situations in life that are far beyond our control, sometimes in life not due to our creation but of the fault of others, we are dealt with dilemmas that we can’t do anything about.

Sometimes life’s journeys can literally put us through hell and back, it is at these times that we spiritually need to be strong.  Only God knows why, we are put through such ordeals. Maybe its Gods purpose of purging us, of braking us down, like a blacksmith purges and brakes down a piece of metal, once we have gone through the fire,  the metal is ready for the maker’s hand.

In the end know and understand this, no matter what comes, no matter what “substitutes” are placed in your stead, no matter how many attempts there are to have you recycled into other forms, your title as "Daddy” is not simply a title, but a right, a right that no other man can ever steal from you. A relationship with your son that can never be broken, you and your child are partners forever.
